Scales

Scales is a special edition BeastDrive unit, a series of transformable mechanical creatures built around a standardized, articulated inner frame. This allows for a high degree of customization, with armor and weapon parts being fully interchangeable. This particular version, "Scales," was created as a unique colorway for the BotCon 2023 convention, distinguishing it from the mass-retail BD-03 Naughty Saur unit.

Scales is the fastest and most agile of the Velasa Raptors. His wheeled Drive Mode spreads fires across flatters areas, while his Beast mode can maneuver over tougher terrain. The Volcano turbines on his back liquifies most rock and metal types, allowing Scales to "swim" through the lava rivers he creates to further melt and reshape the planet surface. Smart, cunning and able to coordinate the Velasa Raptors into packs with flawless results.

Released in August 2023, BD-03 BCON Scales was a convention exclusive available only at BotCon 2023. The figure was sold as a set titled "BD-03BCON + BCON-TD Scales & Velasa Raptor Armor Set." This special package included not only the complete Scales figure but also a second, bonus armor set in translucent orange to create the Velasa Raptor.
