Soundwave

The ever-loyal Soundwave serves as the Decepticon's Communications Officer and chief of espionage. Utterly devoted to Megatron's cause, he uses his mastery of surveillance and his deployed cassette minions to gather intelligence and sabotage Autobot operations. Soundwave is cold, calculating, and rarely speaks, preferring to let his actions—and the actions of his spies—do the talking.

Released in July 2013, this Elite Class Soundwave was part of the Transformers: Construct-Bots line, which focused on customizable, buildable figures. The figure came disassembled in a box with a reusable frame and clip-on armor pieces, along with instructions for its two primary modes. It was a general retail release with no known exclusivity.

• Buildable figure with 59 pieces for construction play.
• Features a customizable system with a reusable skeleton.
• Parts are interchangeable with other figures in the Construct-Bots line.

• Cybertronian Spaceship
• Robot

The Construct-Bots line was short-lived and generally unpopular with mainstream Transformers collectors, who often preferred traditional transforming figures over buildable ones. As a result, this Soundwave is not particularly rare or sought-after, and typically holds little value on the secondary market. It appeals primarily to Soundwave completionists or fans of construction-style toys rather than the broader collector base.

As with many figures in the Construct-Bots line, the ball joints can become loose over time, affecting poseability. Some of the clip-on armor pieces may also not attach as securely as desired, sometimes falling off during handling or play.
