Slug

Slug is the Dinobots' cantankerous Triceratops warrior. Belligerent and destructive, he would rather melt an enemy into slag than talk to them. He often clashes with authority, including Optimus Prime, but his immense strength and fire-breathing abilities make him an invaluable, if difficult, Autobot ally.

Released in April 2014, Dinobot Slug was part of the Scout Class assortment for the Transformers: Construct-Bots line, which tied into the "Age of Extinction" movie branding. The figure came packaged on a plastic frame, requiring assembly similar to a model kit, and was a mass-market retail release.

• Buildable figure arrives on a parts frame and requires assembly.
• Features standardized 5mm ports and pegs for customization with other Construct-Bots figures.
• In dinosaur mode, a port on his back allows smaller Dinobot Riders figures to ride him.
• Includes a tail dagger accessory.

The Construct-Bots line was not popular with most adult collectors, and its figures generally hold very little value on the secondary market. As a small, simple Scout Class figure from this line, Slug is extremely common and inexpensive. Collectors typically pass on these in favor of mainline figures with traditional transformation.

Like many figures in the Construct-Bots line, Slug can suffer from loose ball joints, leading to stability issues. The skeletal, parts-based construction can result in a gappy appearance that some find unappealing, and pieces may pop off during handling or play.
