Ironhide is the Autobots' seasoned weapons specialist and Optimus Prime's old friend and bodyguard. He's a grizzled, battle-hardened veteran who is always ready for a fight. Despite his rough exterior and tendency to be trigger-happy, he is deeply loyal and protective of his comrades.
Released in July 2013, Ironhide was part of the first wave of Scout Class figures in the Transformers: Construct-Bots line. The figure was a mass retail release and came packaged with its component parts on a plastic frame, along with a weapon accessory and instructions for assembly.
The Construct-Bots line had a short lifespan and was not a major success with collectors, making figures from the series, especially common Scout Class characters like Ironhide, of low interest on the secondary market. This figure is inexpensive and easy to find, primarily appealing to completists of the Construct-Bots line or fans of building toys rather than mainstream Transformers collectors.
The ball joints used for articulation can become loose over time, particularly with repeated assembly and disassembly, impacting the figure's ability to hold poses.
