Released in 2004 as part of the Transformers: Energon "Combat Class" (Deluxe scale), Rodimus represents a veteran commander who returns to the front lines to lead his own squad of Autobots. This version of the character is a deliberate homage to the original Generation 1 Rodimus Prime, serving as a mentor figure within the Energon animated series.
