Character Background

Scorponok is the powerful leader of the Terrorcons and a high-ranking Decepticon commander in the Transformers: Energon animated series. This figure was released in 2004 as an Ultra Class toy (marketed as Commander Class in certain retail regions) and is a completely original mold for the series.

Collectibility

Collectors value this figure for its unique triple-changing design and its imposing presence, as it is significantly more articulated than the original G1 Scorponok. While it is praised for its play value and sturdy robot mode, collectors should be extremely wary of "Gold Plastic Syndrome" (GPS), as the gold-colored plastic used for the heel spurs and certain internal clips is prone to becoming brittle and shattering over time. Additionally, because of the age of the figure, it is important to check for battery corrosion in the electronic compartment which can damage the internal wiring.
