Studio Series - Transformers: The Movie: Leader Class Dinobot Snarl
Background, key features and collector notes for this figure
The battle-hungry Snarl is a Dinobot of few words and immense strength. Often pessimistic and antisocial, he is nonetheless fiercely loyal to his Dinobot commander, Grimlock, and the Autobot cause. He despises weakness and prefers the heat of battle over all else, using his powerful tail and dorsal plates to devastating effect in his stegosaurus mode.
Released as part of the Studio Series '86 sub-line, this Leader Class figure captures Dinobot Snarl as seen in The Transformers: The Movie. Following its initial release in late 2023 and a 2025 restock, this updated production run was issued in May 2026. The figure is packaged with a removable backdrop depicting the iconic 'Mockery of Justice' Quintesson courtroom scene.

Ratings and thoughts from collectors who own Snarl
As the fourth of five core Dinobots released in the Studio Series '86 line, Snarl is considered an essential purchase for fans aiming to complete the fan-favorite team. While multiple production runs indicate strong demand and make the figure widely available rather than rare, its role as a team-completer ensures it remains sought-after. It holds its value well but is not expected to appreciate significantly due to its accessibility.
Some collectors have reported minor issues with panels not tabbing together perfectly flush in stegosaurus mode, particularly around the legs and tail. As with other figures using metallic gold plastic, some long-term collectors have expressed concerns about potential plastic degradation over time, though widespread breakage has not been reported.
The May 2026 release is noted as an updated production run, which may feature minor tooling or deco adjustments compared to the original October 2023 and April 2025 releases. These changes are typically subtle and may not be immediately apparent without a side-by-side comparison.
