Character Background

This version of Prowl was released in 2004 as part of the "SWAT Team" two-pack, a retailer exclusive (Sam's Club) that paired him with Checkpoint. He is a tactical redeco of the standard Energon Prowl, swapping the original white and blue colors for a darker "SWAT" inspired navy blue, black, and white palette.

Key Features:

• Powerlinx Gimmick: As a Combat Class figure, he can transform into either the upper or lower torso to combine with other Deluxe-sized Energon Autobots.

Alt Modes and Real-World Inspiration

• Police Interceptor: Based on a stylized, futuristic Formula-1 or Indy-style open-wheel race car modified for police use. While not a licensed vehicle, the design features the aerodynamic profile and exposed wheels of a high-speed racing car.

Collectibility

Collectors often prefer this "SWAT" version over the original retail release because the darker color scheme is seen as more cohesive and fitting for a police character.
