Soundwave

The Decepticon's ever-watchful spymaster, Soundwave is utterly loyal to Megatron's cause. As the communications officer, he monitors every transmission for valuable intelligence, processing it with cold, computer-like logic. When the time comes for direct action, he can deploy his legion of cassette minions, such as Condor, from his chest compartment to wreak havoc on the Autobots.

Announced as part of Takara Tomy's premium Missing Link line, the D-02 Soundwave (Animation Type) is slated for release in April 2027. This edition is inspired by the character's appearance in the original animated series and features Japanese-language packaging, instructions, and a character card.

• Modern, fully-poseable articulation added to the classic G1 design.
• Partial die-cast zinc alloy construction for premium weight and feel.
• Includes a fully-transforming Condor cassette figure.
• Features a heat-sensitive Decepticon rubsign that reveals the faction logo when touched.
• Animation-accurate deco and accessories, distinct from the D-01 toy-inspired version.

• Cassette Player
• Robot
• Lamp Mode: Light Standard Disguise Mode

As a core G1 Decepticon in the highly anticipated Missing Link line, Soundwave is a must-have for many collectors. The line's concept of updating classic toys with modern articulation while preserving the original scale and transformation has been very successful. This 'Animation Type' version specifically targets fans of the original cartoon, and its premium build and comprehensive accessories suggest it will be a definitive G1-style Soundwave that holds its value well.
