Character Background

Sky Shadow was released in 2005 as part of the final waves of the Transformers: Energon toyline. He is a Decepticon-themed repaint of the earlier Terradive figure and serves as a limb for the Superion Maximus combiner.

Key Features:

• Combiner Limb: Features a specialized "Scramble City" style engineering that allows the figure to transform into either an arm or a leg for the Superion Maximus combiner.
• Energon Weapon: Includes a translucent purple claw weapon that can be held in robot mode or attached to the jet mode.
• Combiner Part: The Energon weapon doubles as a hand or a foot connector for the combined giant robot mode.
• Powerlinx Port: Equipped with a standard 5mm port on the jet's top/robot's back to attach Energon stars or additional weaponry.

• A-10 Thunderbolt II: Based on the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II (commonly known as the "Warthog") ground-attack aircraft, featuring its distinctive twin rear-mounted engines and nose cannon.

Collectibility

Collectors often seek out Sky Shadow to complete the Superion Maximus combiner, as his dark black, silver, and purple color scheme is considered one of the most visually striking decos in the Energon "Basic" class. While the mold is highly articulated for its size, collectors should be wary of "clear plastic syndrome," as the translucent purple plastic used for the weapon and some joints can become brittle over time. Additionally, because he was released toward the end of the Energon line, he can be slightly more difficult to find in a complete, undamaged state compared to the earlier-wave limbs.
