About Dio (Neon Blue)

Background, key features and collector notes for this figure

Background

Dio is the original BeastBox, a robotic Tyrannosaurus Rex that established the core concept for the entire 52Toys line. Fierce and iconic, this mechanical predator compacts its powerful frame into a deceptively simple cube form. This Neon Blue version reimagines the classic design with a striking new color palette, presenting the formidable hunter in a translucent, electric hue.

Key Features

Transforms from Tyrannosaurus Rex to a 4cm cube in 10 steps
Constructed from translucent dark blue plastic with white detailing
Features an articulated jaw and posable limbs in beast mode
A redeco of the original BB-01 Dio mold

Release Notes

Released in March 2017, BB-01NB Dio Neon Blue was an early color variant of the inaugural BeastBox mold. It was distributed in a small window box, typical of the line's initial offerings. This release did not include the plastic storage case (Box Charger) or character card that became standard with later figures.
